The treatment of Female Sexual Dysfunction

Female Sexual Disorder (FSD) is a problem of which the magnitude and implication is frequently underestimated. In the US alone, more than 30 percent of all women have little or no desire in sex. Only some women suffering from FSD seek professional help for it. Yet, there are millions of women for whom FSD is a serious problem.

The pharmaceutical industry is diligently looking for solutions, but has not been very successful to date. However, the experimental results of Lybrido were considered promising. Lybrido is the first medicine with both a central and a peripheral effect.

A delegation from Emotional Brain are presenting the latest and promising results on Lybrido at the annual International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH) meeting in Orlando, Florida, USA, February 22-25, 2007 (http://www.isswsh.org/meetings/2007/). In a special symposium about Lybrido -chaired by Prof. Dr. W. Everaerd- Dr A. Tuiten, J. Bloemers, F. van der Made and Prof. Dr. B. Olivier will explain our latest findings with results from recent clinical trials and discuss their implications for the treatment of female sexual dysfunction (FSD) with renowned international experts from all over the world. The data indicate that Lybrido improves both the physiological and the subjective sexual experience in women suffering from FSD.
